རྒྱས་པར་གཟིགས།Press conference was organized on November 16 with regards to the eighth round of talks between the envoys of H.H.The Dalai Lama and the Chinese representatives. It is stated that demand of genuine autonomy was raised during the talk but there was no such favourable response from the Chinese counter-part.

While sending my greetings to all Tibetans in and outside Tibet, there are a few important issues I would like to present to you.
Since I was very young, I realized that the transformation of our governance into a democratic system was of utmost importance for Tibet’s immediate and long-term interest. Therefore, after taking responsibility as the spiritual and political leader of Tibet, I worked hard to establish such a democratic set-up in Tibet. Unfortunately, we were unable to achieve it under the harsh repression of the People’s Republic of China.

Penpa, the leader of the Tibetan market, told phayul that damage to property is estimated between 48 lakh (4.8 million) rupees to 50 lakh (5 million) rupees.

Dagpo, Bhuchung K.Tsering and Kalsang Tsering are back home on November 6, 2008. According to the Statement of Special Envoy Kasur Lodi Gyari, Head of the Tibetan Delegation dated November 6, “The main purpose of this trip was to follow up on the discussions held during the seventh round in July this year. We presented a memorandum to the Chinese leadership on genuine autonomy for the Tibetan people”.
