Pre-Special Meeting Panel Discussion:
The first two speakers spoke mainly on Middle Way Approach (U-mey Lam) and the later three mainly spoke on Complete Independence (Rangzen). This special panel discussion was witnessed by hundreds of general public. In his talk, Dr. Lobsang Sangay has emphasised on the necessity of Unity. He said that any non-violent movement must adhere to three principles in order to succeed: unity, planning, and discipline. Without these three pillars, any movement is bound to fail. But ultimately the success of any movement depends on the global environment, and timing.” Likewise, MP Penpa Tsering has also talked in favour of U-mey Lam. He said that H.H.The Dalai Lama has called upon this special meeting to wake up Tibetans for Tibet Cause. This has created a platform to discuss on the future of Tibetan movement. The writer Jamyang Norbu as usual has stressed on Rangzen. He said that there has been unity and friendly relationship between people having two different stance like Rangzen and U-mey Lam but also there is no sarcastic remark pass to each other. We must strive hard for our fundamental rights by keeping the wishes of Tibetans inside Tibet. Similarly, the TYC President Tsewang Rigzin of course has talked in favour of Rangzen. He said that the background of this year’s mass uprising inside Tibet has two messages which are: the Tibetans are suffering under Communist regime of Chinese oppression for nearly sixty years and the true history of Tibet’s independence. Therefore after seeing the Tibet’s history and the present plight of Tibet, it is very clear that there is no possibility for the peaceful co-existence of Chinese and Tibetans. Therefore, if we need Rangzen then we need to work very hard. And the last cheif speaker was SFT Vice President Tenzin Dorjee who spoke in favour of Rangzen. He said that the main cause for Chinese to stay in Tibet is they enjoy more benefits and advantages. So therefore, we need to increase their loss and decrease their benefits for staying in Tibet. Similarly, we need to cut off ourselves from Chinese regarding politics, economy, society, business, etc. and eventually Chinese should be compelled to call us for negotiation.
